Well over the past while I've been working on my sketchbook for The Sketchbook Project 2015 and managed to post it on time. I wasn't able to take many good quality photos of the pages or scan them but I'll be visiting the library in August so hopefully I shall see my sketchbook once again (if it isn't on tour at that time). Paint is my main medium but this project gives me the opportunity to branch out into drawing that I don't often indulge in as often as I would like.

I'm looking forward to seeing the library again and I already have a list of the things I want to buy whilst I'm there. Will have to try and not spend all day leafing through the books like I did last time.

A few pages that I did manage to take photographs of.

Revamp

So along with a new start on this blog I reworked the layout that may need a few more tweaks ... and then I haven't done any posts as my calander decided to fill up. I hope to rectify that now.

I have some small projects going on that I hope to write up soon. I have a sketchbook to complete for the Sketchbook Project to post at the end of the month.

I was hit with the feeling of nostalgia over the past weekend. Visiting Newcastle, catching up with some old friends and then celebrating a friend's birthday. It makes me miss the city more but I need to look ahead and move forward.

So here is a short but sweet entry.

Uni work... (image heavy)

So 2014 was the year I put on my final show, had the group show in London and then graduated.
I haven't posted any photos from the show and unfortunately I can't find any high quality images so I'm using tablet/phone photos, hopefully they won't be too bad.

Yet to be titled & Kaiken alussa… (In the beginning…)
(Oil Paint)

My work is a mix of acrylic and oil paints, some pieces may have a base of acrylic paint to be then finished with oils or they may stay acrylic pieces. Playing around with layering, colours and tensions. The depth on the paintings aren't properly translated through the photographs but the layering is there. For my final pieces, Japanese prints were highly influencial through the marks and colouring and I found myself using colours I wouldn't ordinarily use.
I've found that I'm the kind person of person you will see mouthing along to the words of songs playing through their earphones regardless of being in public, especially on buses. This comes through in my physical act of painting. Luckily I don't have spectators observing me paint.

Some close ups.

Fresh start

This year has brought many things so I decided to have a fresh start with this blog and to make blogging a full time thing again. My sister also inspired me to do this again, she has her own blog here, as has now moved to America~ check out her adventures.

So I graduted earlier this year and I now hold a Bachelor's of Fine Art. It still baffles me that I have completed so many years of education... But it has been fun.
I've been home for a few months and damn, I miss all the people from uni. You really do live in your own personal bubble for three years or however many years you are there for. So now I'm praying to get a job in Manchester soon so I can plan my trip back up there to see everyone.
